17 children, 5 volunteers and family and friends made our first Storytime in Phoenix, Arizona a success. Of course, great sunny Phoenix weather helped a bit too!
The room was buzzing with laughter, colorful balloons and smiles everywhere. From 10 months to 14 years old, everyone was excited to hear the story’s from our hand selected African American authors.
Up first was an introduction from our founder Monique Joseph sharing more info with the families about the organizing and future of UM. Then the excitement began with a fun nursery rhyme and story from our volunteers.
We continued with songs and 2 additional books. After he stories each child had an opportunity to create and make a fun door hanger for their bedroom or house.
The rest of the event featured listening to fun nursery rhymes, eating healthy snacks with lots of giggles and fun.
