What Is the Momnibus Act?
The Momnibus Act (H.R. 7973), introduced by Congresswoman Lauren Underwood, is a comprehensive package of legislation designed to improve maternal health and address disparities that continue to impact mothers and babies throughout the United States.
The legislation includes initiatives that support:
- Improving maternal health outcomes
- Reducing racial disparities in maternal mortality
- Strengthening the maternal healthcare workforce
- Investing in community-based organizations
- Expanding maternal health research
- Supporting healthier pregnancies and safer births
